Why is camp treated like a luxury when it isn’t one?

Camp is a necessity. But it’s one that so many families simply cannot afford. A child stuck at home all summer without any friends? It’s unthinkable. 

The Cleveland Community Camp Fund is here to make sure every single kid can get some sunshine and structure at the camp of their choosing.

Single-parent families, kids with special needs, families dealing with serious medical problems, or simply families struggling to make ends meet: There are so many reasons why people can’t afford camp. For many families, rising camp costs make this important experience difficult to access. Camp should not be out of reach for children who would benefit from it most. Our small team of vetters carefully review each scholarship application with discretion, so families keep their dignity.

The Cleveland Community Camp Fund is committed to providing meaningful assistance toward the cost of camp. While grants make a meaningful difference for families, they are designed to help offset the cost and do not cover the full camp tuition.

Families complete an application with basic family, camp, and reference information. Online applications are reviewed confidentially by volunteers.

Unfortunately, no. Funds are limited, and we are unable to fund all applications.

Our financial assistance program is designed to be welcoming and accessible. The application is simple and completely confidential, and every request is reviewed with care and respect. Support is awarded based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds, ensuring that resources are shared responsibly. Once approved, financial aid is sent directly to the camp to make the process seamless for families.
